Do you have a cluttered shed? Would you like more space to fit a car in your garage? Is your storage space filled to the brim? These aren’t the most glamourous spaces to organize but investing in these spaces can add function and decrease stress in your daily life. Here’s some tips to make garage, sheds and storage spaces more functional, accessible and organized.
Lets get your large tools off the floor or work bench! Using a wall to store tools or bulky items keeps them organized and easy to access. You can also hang brooms, leaf blowers, hoses, and more!
Bikes are a bulky item to store and we like storing them vertically to free up floor space. In this small shed, four bikes used to take up the whole space, making it hard to walk into the shed. Once the bikes were stored vertically, we could access the other walls to store tools, and we had floor space to store a lawn mower and power washer.
Another way to maximize vertical space is by using stackable bins. We recommend storage bins that are clear and have a latch to secure the lid. Clear containers allows for you to see the contents easily while latching lids keep dust out and your items secure. It’s like a puzzle grouping items into the right size box – the right combination will take up the least amount of space. And, of course, don’t forget to label each bin!
