3 Steps to Level Up Your Organization

We’re often asked where to start in organizing a space. The very first step we suggest is to declutter and edit items to make sure you’re not organizing things you don’t want or need in a space (check out our post on decluttering if you missed it). Now lets get you started on getting organized!

Our goals in organization are to help you:
1) Make items easily accessible
2) Have a space that is aesthetically pleasing
3) Set up a space so that you can easily maintain a clear organization system

Containers and Bins

The first step in organization is making a specific “home” for items. Using containers is a great way to keep similar items together in a specific spot you can easily find. Items won’t get lost in the back of closet shelves if they’re in a bin you can pull out. Also, uniform containers look a lot nicer than having items jumbled on a shelf. Whether it’s children’s toys, a storage closet, or your pantry, containers are the start to making an organization system for your space.

Labels

Labels are KEY to finalizing an organization system. They help everyone in the family know where to find items and make it easier to maintain your newly organized spaces. Labeling helps to make sure a container, drawer, shelf, area is just for those items. Labels help us to put things back in the correct spot and find them when we’re in a rush. Not sure what to label? Matching Hangers

Hangers are so important. They keep your clothes off the floor and help to make our clothing last longer. Using the right hangers is incredibly important. Matching hangers are a game changer – event matching plastic hangers will look better than a mismatch of colors or wire hangers. Who doesn’t want matching hangers that raise the aesthetic of your closet?!

There you have it – those are my top three things you need when organizing a space. If you want more inspiration check out our website. If you need help knowing where to start or how to reorganize a space to fit your lifestyle schedule a meeting here
