Sponsor A Space – Home Organizing Nonprofit

We live in a great community of people here in Colorado Springs.

Tons of neighbors help other neighbors, and we always want to find ways to do more.

We have finally found a way to help in our own special way! We’re expanding the accessibility of home organizing in Colorado Springs to those in the deepest need.

Home Organizing as Practical Relief to Community Hardships

It’s been a difficult past couple of years.

A lot of people are drowning in their clutter.

There is a movement among neighbors to help each other. When we have moments where we feel blessed, we like to pass that along to others.

You already know that Joyful Spaces offers stress-free professional organizing sessions. A lot of us would love to be more organized!

But for some of us, clutter is not just clutter. It’s an emotional burden.

For some of our neighbors in greatest need, clutter that holds back their life and slows them down – often with serious consequences.

We wanted to bring the skills and experience from Joyful Spaces to people who can’t otherwise receive our help. We created a nonprofit! And we named it Sponsor A Space.

We’re making it official!

Sponsor A Space is a community-sponsored nonprofit for emotional well-being through compassionate organizing sessions in Colorado Springs.

You may have seen the new page on our website already.

We’re just exploding with excitement to share this big next step with you! Thank you for making this community impact movement possible.

Home Organizing Meets Social Work

Hi! I’m Meghan Jackson, the founder of Joyful Spaces and Sponsor A Space. My goal is to bridge the gap between compassionate givers and community members in need with my background as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.

I have a passion for reimagining spaces and believing in the potential of others.

I have 11 years of experience in social services, my most formative position being at the Department of Human Services where I developed a life skills teaching program, built community partnerships, and worked with hundreds of people towards their goal of self-sufficiency. In 2019, I looked for a change and started a home organizing business, Joyful Spaces. After I got into a rhythm of working with clients, I quickly realized Joyful Spaces was not too dissimilar from my social services experience.

Sponsor A Space is the culmination of my love of giving and supporting communities by encouraging and providing individuals with tools to develop their own peaceful and productive space.

WHAT IT STARTED AS

A neighbor wanted to help another neighbor with home organization who couldn’t afford it.

Joyful Spaces matched their generous donation.

More people came forward asking if they could give more through a nonprofit organization.

WHAT HAS BEEN ACCOMPLISHED

We have an amazing group of people who have volunteered to be on the Board of Directors for Sponsor A Space. The Board serves as a governing body overseeing the program. They bring a wealth of experience in their support of the Sponsor A Space mission and the greater public good.

We are building partnerships with local social services agencies to identify needs-based candidates who are currently engaged in services and working towards self-sufficiency.

We have submitted our applications for nonprofit status and can now officially operate as a nonprofit!
