Have items you want to declutter, trash or recycle, but can’t donate?
Here is a quick guide to responsibly dispose of trash, recycling, sensitive documents, medications, and hazardous waste.
We have some great community disposal resources in Colorado Springs!
These places make it easy to let go of items that you no longer need or want.
This post has been updated for 2026.

Two decades of electronics, cleared from one attic. After a 3 hour, two organizer session, we hauled a carload of electronics, a carload of donations and several bags of trash down two flights of stairs. (Near the front of the car is an original iMac. It weighs 34 pounds!)
Positive global and local change can be made when you shred, trash, and recycle with care.
