If you’ve been thinking about hiring a professional organizer, the first question is usually “What will this cost me?” We believe in being open about cost, so here’s what our clients actually spend.
At Joyful Spaces, we’ve helped Colorado Springs families organize pantries, closets, garages, play spaces and entire homes. Below, you’ll find typical client spending, what shapes the cost of a project, and how we keep pricing clear from your first visit to your last session.
What Colorado Springs Clients Actually Spend
Every home is different, so a rate alone doesn’t say much about what we can accomplish together. Here’s what our clients actually spend: a typical client invests about $470, which usually covers one space like a walk-in pantry, kitchen, play space or small bedroom.
Some projects cost less. If you’d like to work one-on-one with an organizer, or your family is closely involved, your investment may be lower. Sometimes it just takes one person leading the charge to spark action, and you take the project from there.
Clients who tackle several spaces usually spend $800 to $1,500. Your Discovery Session will give you a clear picture for your own space.
Whole-home projects and ongoing support are custom to each family, and your lead organizer will map out what that looks like with you.

How We Schedule Your Project
Most clients start with a 3-hour session. We book projects one session at a time so you always know where things stand, both in scope and in cost.
We can give you an estimate at your Discovery Session. The final timeline depends on things like how decisions are going and how much detailed organizing your space needs. We keep you informed along the way, so there are no surprises.
This way, you pay for the time your project actually takes. You’re never locked into a flat project rate that overshoots what you need.
We can also schedule your project in other ways:
- Regular sessions. Some clients tackle a large project at a steady pace, once a week or every other week. A regular rhythm makes it easy to plan your time and budget.
- Dedicated project time. Facing a deadline like a move or a business organizing project? We can block out a chunk of time for our team to focus on your project.
What Affects Organizing Costs in Colorado Springs
No two projects are alike. These are the factors that shape yours:
- Size of the space and how full it is. A packed three-car garage takes more time than a reach-in coat closet.
- The current level of organization. A pantry that’s overflowing or completely mixed up takes longer than one that just needs a refresh.
- How much decluttering is needed. Checking expiration dates or matching containers with their lids adds time, and it makes the finished space work better.
- How quickly decisions come. You’re always in charge of what stays and where it goes. Some people decide quickly, and others like to take their time. Both are completely okay.
- Whether you work alongside us. Clients who actively help often move faster. You’re also welcome to let us work on our own, and we’ll check in with questions so the space fits your life.
- Number of organizers and session length. You can work with one organizer or a team of two. Team sessions are more efficient and finish faster. Some clients prefer the slower pace of working with one organizer.
- How much we finish together. Some clients want everything completed during sessions. Others save money by finishing a few items on their own, and we always leave clear next steps.
What Is a Discovery Session?
Every project starts with a 45-minute Discovery Session. It’s an in-person consultation with the lead organizer who will guide your project.
Together, you’ll tour your space, talk through your goals and focus on one or two areas. You’ll leave with a customized plan, product ideas and an estimate for your project.
A few things to know:
- Cost: $49.
- Your lead organizer stays with you. The same person who meets you at the Discovery Session leads your project, so no details get lost in a handoff.
- Virtual is an option. If you’re farther away, we can meet virtually.
- The ideas are yours to keep. Some clients take our tips and run with them on their own, and we love that too.
What Your Investment Supports
We work hard to keep our rates as low as possible while paying our team well. Your investment also covers the time we spend communicating with you between sessions.
Our organizers have been with Joyful Spaces for two to four years. We’re proud of this experienced, caring team. They do this work because they love helping people feel at home in their spaces.
A portion of every session also supports Impactful Organizing, our nonprofit. It helps neighbors in need of professional organizing create safe living spaces.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you charge by the hour or by the project?
We charge an hourly rate and book one session at a time. Your lead organizer shares your rate and estimated hours at your Discovery Session, before you book anything.
Do I have to buy containers or products?
No. Products are completely optional, and we love working with what you already have. If you’d like to shop, we’ll recommend what fits your space and budget.
Will you make me get rid of my things?
Never. You decide what stays, and we help you find a home for it. When you’re ready to let something go, we can take one carload of donations at the end of each session. Our 2026 Donation Guide and 2026 Seller’s Guide list local places to donate or sell.
How many sessions will my project take?
Most clients start with a 3-hour session. Many single-space projects finish in one session, and larger projects are scheduled over several. Your Discovery Session will give you an estimate.
Can you help with paperwork, sheds or getting ready to move?
Yes. Take a look at our Simple Paper Filing Systems and Shed Organization posts for ideas.
